This UN Rated (UN1A1/X1.8/300) 55 gallon black tight head carbon steel drum has a white top and rust inhibitor. The 18/22/18 gauge (top/body/bottom) carbon steel is tested for durability. This tight head steel drum has 2″ NPT & 3/4″ NPT nylon fittings, which may make it suitable for some flammable liquid storage applications. Made from highly impact resistant nylon resin for durability and protection, the plugs allow venting of the drum contents to relieve pressure. The plugs are also designed to melt as temperatures rise, which also relieves container pressure and helps prevent explosions. Diesel is a flammable liquid so proper storage is essential for personnel safety. Movement during transportation increases the risk for chemical reactions like explosions, which makes this steel drum with nylon plugs storage a suitable solution for such liquids.
